"Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!" - Robin Williams
Well, another week of mixed weather. Wet and windy, cloud and sun. And snow was forecast again. But I’ve still managed to get a couple of sessions in the garden this week, tidying and preparing the veg area of the garden.
I’ve planted the seed potatoes in a bin in the garden. They are a salad variety called Sharpes Express. I am hoping the bin will retain heat because it’s basically black (with decoration). But I’ve also put a bit of fleece on top in case of more frosts. It will be joining the rhubarb in the veg garden, which is surviving well with its flowerpot hat on and anti-slug egg shells.
The seeds on my window ledge are doing well. It looks like the peas are ready to go out.
The mini green houses that I put together a few weeks back have been blown all over the place. That’s despite them being in what I thought was a sheltered yard. I moved them about to try and avoid the winds and used cable ties to tie them to railings, without success. They are going to be moved away from the sheltered yard to a very exposed area as an experiment. Sounds mad, but it might work….
