I know that I said I wouldn’t be doing blogs for a couple of months. But I need to remind readers that there’s the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch at the end of the month. You just need to spend an hour between the 27th and the 29th Jan looking to see how many different birds you see in your garden. No garden? Then go to a park or perhaps the Bloomers garden to look out for birds there. Search for 'RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch' and get details of what to do. There’s even a spotters guide so you can identify the birds you see. It’s the World's Largest Wildlife Survey, so be part of it.
If you do your birdwatch in the garden, look out for spring bulbs starting to shoot. Although we took down the Xmas decs, we have left a bit of decoration in the garden still.
Remember if you want to work off a few of the extra Xmas pounds feel free to spend some time tidying up in the garden. Dead heading the winter pansies, picking up litter and tidying up the toys. If you take a rake with you, there’s a lot of leaves to tidy up too. Put them behind Bugingham Palace to keep our sleeping insects happy.
